Hi,
I've gotten all of my prerequisites out of the way, and I've been accepted into the nursing program for Fall 2006, but now I need to find some financial resources. I've already contacted my school and local health care facilities about scholarships. My school was as unresponsive and unhelpful as ever, and there are a couple of scholarships to be found at hospitals, but those require you to work for them when you get out if you get their scholarship. Not that that's bad, I just would prefer not to be tied down to a specific facility.
Now, don't get me wrong, I've been down the financial aid road before, so I've already filled out my FAFSA and my school's financial aid forms. I've also written several essays for healthcare scholarships on fastweb.com. I already have an Associate's degree and 2 additional years of college at a university going toward a teaching degree. But, things happened (too many to go into at the moment), and I went for nursing instead. I'm new to the nursing scene, so I'm just wondering if anyone knows of specific scholarships/grants available to nursing students that aren't state specific, unless it's Mississippi since that's where I'm at. Any info would be greatly appreciated, and I'm sure all the other students would love to hear about it as well. Thanks so much! :typing
