Nursing salaries by state

Hello. I hope this is not an inappropriate question, but what is the average pay for a new grad RN in your state? I live in La. and I am sure, like so many other catagories, we are on the bottom of the list..... Thanks alot!

CT, new grad about 56,000.

Check out salary.com

Arizona - metro Phoenix area is 19 something to 22 something an hour

In rural hospital in Kansas, I started at 19 something an hour for a new grad.

Maryland is about $22-$23 hour for base pay

SELU - I have a cousin who started out at $19 - something an hour at STPH in Covington about 3 years ago. She said she quickly moved up within a year to around $22.00 an hour.

I don't think it is inappropriate at all, lol. Here, the hospitals are paying about 22/hour for new grads. With sign on bonuses. Also, they pay 1.00/hr for evenings and 2.00/hr nights. My hospital offers premium pay for shifts you pick up that is 4.00/hr extra on weekdays and 8.00/hr on weekends and holidays.

I am a LPN...Long Island ,NY

$23.00/hour

I work for a Plastic Surgeon

New Grad, RN in Staten Island New York (it is 1 of the 5 borrows that make up New York City) I started at 33.80/hr...after a year I went up to 34.82/hr....the other States pay way less and in my opinion, I still don't get paid enough for the stress, both physically and mentally...nursing school could not prepare you for what you will have to deal with....

Just seeking clarification , is that premium ,a bonus added to the overtme pay you recieve after working > 40 hours in the week ?

i'm pre-nursing, but here in hawaii nurses make $29-30/hour starting.
