  1. I know that Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange hires new grads. I was a new grad and got extended an employment offer, but ended up turning it down for another hospital. The recruiter is really nice and his contact info is on their website. They're an acute rehab hospital for TBIs, SCIs, strokes, etc... if you're into stuff like that! Also I know Princeton Healthcare was interviewing new grads for their OR program that starts in Sept. Hope this helps. Good luck :)
  2. I graduated in May and got licensed in NY as well. It took 1 month for me to get my NY license after my NJ license came in the mail. I would get the ball rolling if you are looking to be licensed in NY as well. They have multiple criteria/forms they need completed before they will license you. It took me 3 months to get a job in a hospital, which happened to be in NYC. I think they are hiring a bit more than NJ hospitals and the pay is a bit higher too. I'm not sure what the tax situation will be, but I heard that NJ offers a tax credit for working in NY and paying NY taxes... Hope this helps. Good luck in the job hunt!
  3. Thats great to get 5 interviews. I would keep following up with the recruiters to let them know you are still interested in the jobs. They will hopefully let the managers know you are persistent and you want to work for them. Something will come up. I finally got a part-time job in a hospital. And persistent follow-up was key! I wish you all the best in your hunt!
  4. jgragu1, do you work at siuh? if so, do u like it there? what floor do you work on? thanks. happybsn, rn
  5. I feel your pain! I graduated in May with a BSN, got licensed in NJ and NY and am jobless. Let's not give up though. They'll have to give in to us new grads at some point, we just hit the job scene at a bad time. Can others post where they are hiring new grads to give us hope ??!?!
  6. well I thought the search was going good with a few interviews but no offers! I moved up here from Florida and cant believe how hard its been to find a job. All my friends in FL have jobs after graduating and me I've applied to over 100 jobs and have had 2 interviews with nothing turn up. How do you like Raritan Bay? Glad you were able to find a job. It gives us other newbies hope :)
  7. If you dont mind me asking...did you interview at Kessler? Any info would be great :)
  8. Hello out there, Does anyone know of hospitals in North/Central NJ willing to hire and train new grads? Thanks so much, J
