Nursing programs in British Columbia, Canada?

Hey I have been wanting to get into nursing but I am basically starting from 0 I likely have to retake the highschool prereqs and I have 12 post secondary credits. I was looking at the BCIT entry and did some research and saw it was very competitive with half the entries having a bachelors degree with high GPA. Is it even possible to break into nursing without anything? What step would need to be taken in order to get entry into a program?

To expand on this, what courses should I focus on getting high grades on if I were to apply to many different school and want to improve my chances of being accepted
