Hello everyone!
I am super excited to announce I will be starting Nursing this upcoming Fall and I was just wondering if anyone had some stories to share or ways I can help myself prepare before I start?
I'm a little bit nervous as to the work load as I have only done one full four course semester in the last four years of my University life and I didn't do very well. I've made sure to set up three courses in my first semester this upcoming Fall and will be doing Spring classes for all three years.
Is there any websites or books anyone recommends to check out that will help me through Nursing school or ways I can do some preparation and learning ahead of time?
Thank you all!
=)

I don't know if you have had any prerequisites for nursing but I know people who went into nursing school with none and have excelled. I had prerequisites and did do some extra readings before I entered. I think the one thing that helped me was reading nursing journals, especially in an area tat interests you. There are a bunch of free ones or ones that give you trial subscriptions. With reading these journals they helped me become familiar with the medical lingo and just some basic concepts, the other thing I would recommend is if you know the books tat you will have next semester buy them ahead of time and in particular read through them. This will give you a head start on the reading for the class and you can familiarize yourself with basic concepts. Other than that I mean you could study some pharmacology books to introduce yourself to medications and because mostly everyone agrees that it is one of the hardest classes you will come across in your nursing career. Hope this helps!
