Online degrees and licenses

Nursing Students Online Learning

This may sound like a silly question, but I am confused about something. If I get my degree through an online college such as Deaconess and then pass the NCLEX and get licensed, can I transfer to another state? How does that work? Like for example, if I get my initial RN license in Florida with my ASN through DCN, could I transfer my RN to a state like CA that doesn't allow DCN degrees and still be considered an RN with an ASN? or would I have to get another ASN by one of their approved colleges?

Thanks so much!

You have to attend a school that follows California's cirriculum requirements to get licensed here. I don't believe DCN meets those requirements and, therefore, you probably would have problems getting a California license but ... you should check with the California BORN to be sure.
