I am a new nursing graduate, still job hunting... I am currently working in community nursing area as a visiting nurse but I would like to move on to hospital working environment to learn more clinical nursing skills with large patient population.
I am just rehearsing myself, practising some nursing interview questions that I encountered before. But i am seeking some best/good nursing interview answers to those questions...
Other nursing interview tips are more than welcome!
What/how can I answer some questions better?
For example like...
-You walk into your patient's room. Your patient does not respond when you call his name. What do you do?
-Your mentor calls you aside towards the end of the shift to give you feedback. You feel that you have been doing a good job and are surprised when she identifies areas for improvement. How would you approach this situation?
-What are your future career goals?
Thanks for looking!

Walk into a room and find an unresponsive patient? Identify cardiac/respiratory arrest, activate code blue and intiate CPR. The steps you take after that depend on the hospital's policy.
Mentor indentifies areas you can improve? Use the information as feedback for your self reflective practice and create a learning plan based on the areas of weakness. You should be able to give a detailed answer to this question. If you are unsure of your answer, review CNO's "Guide to developing your learning learning plan".
Not sure what your future goals are? Seek career advice from RNAO.
