Nursing in Idaho

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I am currently a nurse in Milwaukee, WI. I have 3 years experience as a med-surge nurse and currently work on a maternal fetal newborn unit for the past year. I work with antepartum and postpartum patients. My family is looking to move to Sagel,Idaho. I was looking for advice from other nurses as to where are the best hospitals/clinics to work? How much money do you make an hour? Or at least a range. What EMR system do you use? I currently use Epic.

Does your place of work offer incentive to work extra? My current work place offers 50-75% extra to pick up extra shifts. Does your dad lace of work offer child care? Does your place of work have good benefits? what do you enjoy about your place of work the most?

I would love to continue my work with women's health and some guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Last resort would be going back to med-surge nursing just to get my foot in the door.

Thank you!!

Hospitals near to Sagel are two critical access hospitals (Bonner General in Sandpoint, and Newport Health in Newport, WA), and a larger community hospital in Coeur d'alene (Kootanai Medical Center). Major medical centers for the region are all in Spokane (which is over an hour drive away in good weather). It's been a while since I've lived in the area so I'm not sure the current reputations / pay-rates of any of the hospitals.
