Has anyone here ever been a nursing class President? If so, how did you handle most issues & concerns? Because I'm the class President for our program & I constantly feel like I'm in the middle of EVERYTHING, which I don't mind.
The issue is with our instructor, most of my student council is under the impression our issues on the student council, doesn't need to go to our instructor; however, my instructor puts me on the spot during 1 on 1's, so somehow they are being relayed to her & I'm telling her & honestly I think she's helped fix the issue. For example: Our student council was mad at our curriculum rep because supposedly she didn't mention things during a curriculum meeting; however, I was told by our curriculum rep that everything was brought up & I was told my the director of the program, not much was brought up. But I've even talked to the students who have voiced the most complaints throughout the semester, they seem to trust our curriculum rep while others on my student council have said they don't trust her. Anyways, so our student council came to a anonymous decision that our curriculum rep needs to be watched like a little puppy, per our bylaws. WHICH, our student council made up our own bylaws because we were told nothing about bylaws or where to get them, so my instructor called me one morning & asked me bluntly what issues are we having with bylaws, then she forwarded us all the actual NURSING SCHOOLS bylaws that previous programs have followed. Which my student council through a fit at me about it because I went to her without telling them (she called me), & they're under the impression they have to follow the own bylaws we've made up, not the ones that are provided through the school.
So, as you can tell...It's mostly drama between our student council. We also have a class sponsor but 95% of the times, she's too busy to come to our meetings or doesn't know the answer.
