Help! Career advice

Nurses Career Support

Published

I'm in need of some career advice. I've been a RN for 5 years and stayed at my first med-surg job the entire time. I got to the point where I hated my job and finally decided I wanted out, with or without a new job. I ended up getting a job in the OR as a circulator and i started on the 18th of December. I hate it. I don't really dislike the work but i took about a 5k a year paycut with the benefit change and the driving. I'm working 4 10s and i don't know what time I'll have to work until the afternoon before my shift. I miss 12s..so crazy. I don't know what to do. I want to quit but i carry the insirance for my husband and two kids. I don't know if i should quit now and just try to find something else or find something first? I feel guilty because I'm wasting their time. I also don't know what i should try. I want something flexible that allows me to be home a lot more. Thanks in advance.
