Hi all from new user,
I am looking at all my nursing options prior to the big family move to NZ in October. Can any one advise me if NZ hospitals have a nursing 'bank' - if so is the system similar to that in the UK whereby you can book shifts in advance online? This option may provide me with initial flexability and the opportunity to get to know the hospital before committing to a contract.
Kind regards, ma

i'm not sure what you are trying to ask..i work in new zealand for 2 years before i went here in australia to work as RN.. if you work for nursing agency you can have the flexibility of shifts less the benefits for permanent staff..

Hi!
Most hospitals have a "Bank" or internal nursing agency. I don't know if your able to book shifts online however. You will have to enquire to the hospitals themselves to find out how they organise their shifts. Where in NZ are you thinking of heading to?

Noweena many thanks for replying. We are currently applying for residency. If we are successful, our destination will depend on my husbands employment offer on the North island, hopefully Auckland/northern areas.
