I'm applying to nursing school for my BSN and I'm torn between these two. (Because of travel constraints, I am only looking at these two.)
ResU is attractive in that it is an accelerated program. (This will be my second career, so time is a commodity.)
UIC is attractive in that it is listed among national rankings for nursing programs. (In nursing, how much does where you go to school play into desirability for employers?)
Did any of you attend either of these schools? Do you have thoughts about the strengths of the program you attended? Thoughts pertaining its weaknesses?
Do any of you work with other nurses who went to either of these schools? Do you have opinions based on your experiences working with them? (Leadership skills? Teamwork skills? Do they appear to be prepared for the job?)
Do any of you participate in the hiring of other nurses? Do you prefer nurses from one of these schools over the other?
Thanks for your input!
