Miss mj - i actually called the board and since its already been 2 years since I graduated nursing and haven't had any medical field practice, I need to take the CNA training program. They would've approved me to take the CNA exam if it was within 2 years from my graduation date or if I've had sufficient medical practice since i graduated. YES I'm from California =)

I graduated and received my BSN two years ago in the Philippines. I'm currently unemployed and reviewing for the NCLEX. I'm looking into working as a CNA for the meantime to start my nursing career. My question is can I challenge the California CNA board exam without going through the CNA training program? Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
