I have a paper to do for one of my classes where I have to ask an RN some questions about leadership/management/communication. Problem is, I don't know any RNs! I was hoping someone on here could help me out. I would greatly appreciate it.
1.) Describe at least 6 methods in which information is communicated between the nurse and various other departments, such as PT, dietary, lab etc.
2.) Of the 6 methods described above, discuss the pros and cons of two of the methods.
3.) Identify at least 3 methods by which information is communicated between nursing personnel- during and at shift change. Discuss pros and cons of these methods.
4.) Give an example of an end of shift report in acute care and a long term care setting.
5.) How does a nurse help manage time in order to provide effective client care?
6.) How does the nurse decide what can and cannot be safely delegated to others?
7.) What criteria do you use to determine priorities (how is this different from time management)?
8.) Describe 2 examples of how cost effectiveness and quality control affect daily nursing.
9.) What factors can impact a nurse's organization and ability to complete the assigned daily duties?
10.) Describe a legal situation you have observed in nursing. How was it handled?
11.) Describe two qualities that you would like to see in fellow health care providers.
