Help! Has anyone taken or is anyone currently taking NRSE 4600?? I am totally lost as to how to proceed with this. My class doesn't actually start until May but I'm leaving for vacation in a week and a half so I have to get this proposal finished. I don't even know how to come up with a topic since I don't know what is involved in this class. Can anyone point me toward the starting line and perhaps let me know what to expect?? I'm new to Allnurses so I'm hoping that I can get some support here! thanks

Hi,
I'm having the same problem. I am supposed to have my proposal approved by 5/11 so I can register for 4600 for the second session of summer, but have read over the documents and am completely confused.
1st - what exactly does "indirect clinical" mean? Is this a proposal for a project that will not actually be put into motion, or will be required to implement and evaluate results within the 5 weeks?
2nd - Should the project be directly related to the environment in which we work, meaning our direct practice, or is it OK to address an issue within our community, not necessarily related to our own nursing practice?
If anyone out there has gone through 4600 recently (since the "new" changes took effect a few semesters ago), I would really appreciate some input. Examples of project ideas would be especially helpful. (Not looking for completed project information, just trying to get a grip on what these projects look like and entail)
Thanks so much!!

I'm in the same boat, and no one seems to have an answer! ARG!

I did mine on bedside report in psych nursing. Basically research based assignments. They all build on one another each week. I researched the topic and made a plan for how I would implement it. I took this class in the fall of 2013 after they added the "clinical" component.

Hello dgrando, I have some questions about NRSE 4600. Would you mind sending me an email at [email protected]? I will be taking the class in 2 weeks. I already have an approved topic but wanted to ask you some questions about the clinical portion of it. Thank you!
