an NP proram interview

Hi all,

I am invited to an NP program interview. My primary area of interest is ANP/GNP. Would anyone suggest how best to prepare myself for the interview and what kind of questions to expect.

Thank you!

I was really nervous when I had interviews for FNP programs, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The purpose of the interview is to allow faculty to meet you and make sure that you are a good fit for the program and the program is a good fit for you. Remember, you should be interviewing them too. I had questions about why I chose FNP, why I wanted to attend that particular school, strengths and weaknesses, how I would pay for schooling, future career goals, and how the program and the school would allow me to obtain those goals. There were several more, but those are the ones that I can remember. The important thing is to have questions ready for them. You want to ask how many students are typically admitted, where clinical sites are, how clinicals are set up (do they find the sites for you?), and who teaches specific courses (such as pharmacology or the specialty courses). You should also ask what the passing rate is on the certification exams. Good luck!
