NP productivity pay per patient

Published

I work in a hospital setting and only see inpatients. I get paid $15 for a follow up and $30 for a consultation (specialty practice). Is this average, below average? How much do Physicians typically get re-imbursed for hospital visits?

Thanks for your input!

Seems a bit low to me. A NP friend makes $35 per patient. She does not does not take any admissions but does discharge patients. Discharged patients are extra, I think $20-30 more for dictating discharge summaries.

She also sets a minimum patient load, meaning she won't work for anything less than 15 patients/day. It's her moon lighting gig, so I guess she can be picky that way.

Thanks for the info! I thought it was a little low. Im usually very busy, about 30 patients per day with 5 or 6 being consults so it adds up quickly but just about everyone I talk to says about $20 for follow up and $40-50 for consults/admissions.
