I'm in the process of putting my MEPN application together for the NP program at UCSF. I want to specialize in Oncology, but UCSF only has a CNS Oncology program. So my question is, if I take the ANP track, is it hard to get into Oncology at a later stage? Any suggestions?

Have you thought about checking out http://www.mdanderson.org? Click on their careers section and see what their requirements are for NPs. Maybe that can guide you? I know a lot of NPs are utilized at that hospital; however, I don't know what track was followed to get there. I believe I once met an NP in the sarcoma unit who was once an CNS-Onc RN, then became a FNP.
Good luck.
