1099 NP in California

Hi all,

I am a new grad NP and just accepted a FNP position at a primary care facility at a local private practice in the California Central Valley. I was offered a part time position (1-2 days/week) as an independent contractor (1099) starting at $60/hour with renegotiation after orientation. I was expecting a bit of a pay cut when transitioning from RN to NP; however is this reasonable for a new grad as an independent contractor? If not, what should I counter with that would be fair for a new grad. Also, with the implementation of AB5 in 1/1/2020 can I still function as an independent contractor for this clinic?
