My daughter is deciding between these 2 schools. The cost of NU is 54K a year for 5 years; the cost of UMass Amherst is 17k a year for 4 yrs. 270K versus 68K total!!!!!!!!!!!!
She does want to work in Boston hospitals, but is it really worth that extra fortune of money to be in Boston school for the placements? Can she get into the Boston job scene eventually even going to UMass AMherst?
Will she recoop this money????

I went to UMass Amherst for nursing and graduated in 2006. I actually did a few clinicals in Boston and currently work in a Boston hospital. She can definitely get into the Boston job scene, but I'm sure you've seen from several threads here its hard finding a job around here as a new grad. If she's looking for a cheaper school, definitely stick with UMass Amherst. It really doesn't matter which school you go to, you can still get a job in Boston- you just have to be very persistent due to this economy. I wish your daughter the best of luck in whatever she decides!
