North Shore Community College

Published

Hi all,

I'm new to this site and was planning on applying to North Shore Community College for the ASN program. I was wondering if anyone was a student in the program, how they liked it, and what stats were on their application. I have the majority of the non nursing classes complete but I am just nervous about not getting accepted for the Fall 2011 class. Thank you in advance for your responses!

Did you take the teas v yet

Hi,

I just finished my first year of Nursing at North Shore Community College. I would be happy to answer any questions for you. The best advice I can give you if you are starting in the fall is to take any classes you can this summer. If you have already taken Micro and A&P 1 and 2 etc etc.. then I advice you to look for a summer Pharmacology course. First year second semester you will have to take pharmacology in addition to your Maternity/Pedi class and it is a very tough load. Also, NSCC's pharm class is only worth 2 credits and if you are thinking of continuing your education, many BSN programs require 3 credit pharm courses.

I really enjoy the program at North Shore. The professors are amazing. I cannot speak highly enough about them. They really do want you to succeed and do well. There are frustrations to contend with, as with any school, but I am happy I chose North Shore. If you would like to contact me my AIM is katrinairene and email is [email protected]. I am happy to answer any questions or even just to be someone to touch base with if you start in the Fall. Good Luck to you!
