Normal mother / baby load nowadays?

Published

Hello all, I'm making a return to nursing after being gone for quite some time, and I'm wondering what the "normal" mother / baby acuity load on night shift is nowadays. Not that there IS anything "normal" about this career, LOL, but back in the day I'd take care of four or five mom / baby couples, of which maybe one or two were post-ops recently out of surgery or sickies on mag sulfate or whatever. I'll be doing registry, which means I won't be "regular staff," so hopefully will be able to avoid doing charge... Anyone out there in the specialty, and what are things like, in general? Thanks!
