hello - i am currently in an LPN program in the Norfolk-Newport News area -

Old Dominion University and Norfolk State also have advanced programs - a couple options can get you a BS in about the same amount of time -

Good Luck and welcome to the area !!! :)

I went to Tidewater for a short period. It wasn't for nursing so I can't speak about that but the school was nice enough.

I work with nursing students and nursing graduates from both programs. Both seem to produce competent graduates. I don't know what the figures are for TNCC, but TCC has an NCLEX pass rate in the 95% area, which is excellent. However, about 30% of the people who enter their program either drop out of flunk out before graduation. As I said, I don't know the figures for TNCC.

I would choose the program whose schedules, location, etc. was more convenient for you -- unless one of them just "felt" more right than the other to you.

My mother went to TCC for the 1st year of nursing school, and it was a nightmare. She ended up going thru Regents (now Excelsior) to finish. This past semester an acquaintance of mine failed (she's already a care partner) and is going to reapply. I can't speak for Thomas Nelson. Good luck.
