I know how competitive residency programs are in California so I might be lucky to even get a position let alone be able to choose between two and I don't want to come across as conceited when asking this. However, I wanted to know the pros and cons of being a new grad in NorCal vs SoCal as I know that there is a big wage difference that people justify with higher COL in NorCal but I feel like SoCal doesn't have that big of a difference in COL. So, if I were to potentially get a position at UCLA/USC vs Stanford/Kaiser then what would you guys choose? I have just been pondering this as it will be such a big change and transition in life. I know this can be entirely subjective but I don't mind wherever I go and I have friends in both locations. Thank you guys for your input!
