Non-Traditional Student: Accelerated/Direct Entry Programs

First time posting here. I am coming from a non-nursing background (Psychology degree/pre-med in undergrad) and I am thinking of applying to accelerated or direct-entry programs. My ultimate goal would be to become a NP or DNP. I live in New York and have been researching what programs are available. I am finding that there are not that many direct entry programs besides Columbia and the other ones that exist such as NYU, Stony Brook, etc that have accelerated programs are quite expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions for schools in NY or on the east coast that have a good program that preparers non-nursing degree students for the NP profession (in 3-5 years)? Also, is it worth to go to a top school that is very expensive or does it not matter in the end?
