Hello,
I am a spanish nurse and I would like help about a very important question for me.
I tried to find a U.S.A., U.K. and Canada law about tabbac and Mental Health Centers. In Spain we have a new law that allows smoking in psychiatric wards and forbides smoking at any other public center.
I think that in U.S.A., U.K. and Canada there are laws about Smoking and Mental Health, please I need a link to the full text.
And just in case it is forbidden in U.S.A., U.K. or Canada smoking for mental health patients what kind of special care do they need?
Thank you very much in advance, and sorry because my english.

I work for the State of Ohio in the US, we recently 2005 went to a completely none smoking environment at our Psychiatric hospital. We were motivated by the Health Promotion 2010 recommendation for healthy living. We began with an intensive education campaign that involved patients, their families, staff and the community. The change went well and we are a non-smoking environment (employees as well). Many of the community hospitals have become non snoking as well.
