Non-conventional Jobs for RNs

Nurses Career Support

Published

I have been a nurse for a year now in the ICU. I like my job, but I have quickly learned that I don't want to be at beside for too long. I've considered moving to other units but the interest just isn't there. What really interests me is finding a way to branch out into other jobs/career fields where my RN background would be useful. The problem is when you look up non-beside jobs for RN's, the results usually lead to jobs like hospital administration, doctors offices, and things like that. RN's are capable of creating so many cool and interesting career paths OUTSIDE of the hospital but I rarely hear about it. SO, if you or someone you know have an interesting job that is different than most RN jobs I would love to hear about it!
