Hello everyone,
I'm just curious if any veteran nurses out there have never step foot in acute care at a hospital. I've been hearing that you need that one year of acute care experience before you can ever work anywhere else.
I currently work in a busy medicine floor. I preceptored there for 4 months full time for my consolidation and realized that hospital nursing really just isn't for me. I'm orienting there as a new grad now but my passion lies elsewhere. So my question is, Can you succeed as a nurse without the seemingly daunting task of one-year in med-surg?
Thanks!
