If ur going into an acute care hospital in NJ, most places pay Staff RNs on an "experienced-based salary scale", which equals your # yrs experience as an RN. I won't say there's NO negotiation, but it's quite limited. Reason I know that is that I used to be an HR Director/exec in NJ hospitals, and I'm very familiar with compensation practices. Again, the flexibility is usually pretty limited.
So that range you're quoting (and is accurate), ranges from a new RN with no experience, up thru a 20-25 yr experienced RN.
Hope this helps.

I am relocating to NJ soon, and trying to research Salaries with RN's in the area. For just a basic staff nurse, mysalary.com states that in Southern Jersey the range for an RN is 53K-75K....Just by a show of yes/no, can anyone provide me with input as to if this is correct? I have put several applications/resumes out, and want to be prepared for negotions when the time comes. I would appreciate any feedback as to if this range is correct.
I am actually specialized in the OB field, but cannot find much information on further specialization ranges.
Thanks for the help!
