Night Schools in Orlando area for Nursing

U.S.A. Florida

Published

This is my very first post on allnurses.com. I am seriously considering going back to school to become a nurse.

I currently have a Bachelors in Business Administration. I am trying to find a program that offers classes after work or at night. I work during the day and would not be able to go back unless I found a job that had night hours (not something feasible in my current field right now).

I am looking to get an Associate of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing from a school within the Orlando area. I researched the Univesity of Central Florida, but I don't believe they offer night courses. Valencia Community College might be the same thing. I can't understand why night courses wouldn't be an option to someone who wants to go back for nursing. They have tons of classes for business school at night. Does anyone have any ideas? Your help is appreciated!:wink2:

First of all, welcome to allnurses.com!

Seminole Community College in Sanford/Lake Mary is the only program I know that does a nights/weekends option - starts every January and runs for about a year and a half, I think. Lecture classes are Mon-Thurs at night, and clinicals are all day Saturday and Sunday. I learned this from a student in the program, and she told me that classes start each day at 5pm, and a lot of people chose to work during the day but only part-time since there's a lot of studying to do.

Good luck! Hope this info helps...

Wow! That school is about 20 minutes away. I'm going to check it out online.

Thanks again,

I would have never thought that school would have a program like that.
