NICU RN teaching clinicals

I am trying to figure out how to qualify to teach clinical for RN students in California

I am a NICU RN with an MSN with 10 years of bedside and 8 years of charge experience. My goal was to teach clinical PT and continue working as a charge RN. I was told in California that exclusive NICU experience will not qualify me to teach clinicals. Any ideas how to work around this? Thanks
