HI NICU nurses!

Thinking about relocating to GA, around Marietta/Alpharetta areas (maybe 15-30 min away from them, because good Lord, can't afford those houses). By the way, open for suggestions. Would be coming from Level 3 NICU in Chicagoland area, teaching hospital, high Acuity, by then with 12y. of experience, level 3 nurse. I love my nicu. I don't want to leave, but husband will retire and want to move down south to a quiet area, away from big city. I am starting my research now and need help from local nurses to find me a forever NICU :)

If you were me- which level 3 NICU would you choose?

I commented on another post also, but I would look into Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Northside Hospital, and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta! All 3 have really awesome NICU's. Where have you looked so far?

THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING!

I clearly underestimated Alpharettas housing market. Holly cow ! So gotta look more north then, maybe 30 min away from it. I will stay away from Atlanta for sure, we are running away from Chicago, so no more drivinf to downtown :) I have a hard time picking hospitals around there. I know most of have nicus, but just like here.....I could tell someone which hosp has good one who doesnt. So local imput is so important to me. Do you work in Nicu now? If yes, where and do u like it?

Well CHOA would probably not be best for you if you don't want to drive downtown! I believe Northside has a site in Alpharetta area and one in Forsyth. Forsyth is more north so I would definitely look there! You may like the Buford and Flowery Branch areas. Northeast Georgia is even more North but perfect if you live in Buford/Flowery Branch/Gainesville. I would recommend Northeast Georgia, but I know people who work both places!

Just FYI, CHOA's Scottish Rite facility is just at the edge of the perimeter (meaning not downtown), at Sandy Springs! It's conveniently located in a sort of triangle, across the street from Northside (which has a big NICU), and is also adjacent to Emory St. Joseph's. Just northwest of downtown :)
