I recently just passed my rn nclex after 3 attempts in the state of TX and I graduated in 2013. I am ready to start my career as a nurse. I am currently living in San Antonio, TX and I am wondering are there any hospitals in this area that hire newly licensed nurses with no experience. The only experience I have is from clinicals.

Specializes in M/S, LTC, Corrections, PDN & drug rehab.

It took my best friend awhile to finally land a job a year after she had elective surgery. She finally did, but it wasn't in San Antonio.

Good luck!

Thank You, I hope it doesn't take that long. I need a job asap.

Specializes in Critical Care; Recovery.

You have to make it your job to find a job. Submit a bunch of job applications, then go introduce yourselves to the hiring managers in person. That is what worked for me.

Yea that is what I planned on doing. Its just most of the jobs I come across you have to have experience. I am like If no one hires me then how will I get experience

Don't be picky about where you apply. My best friend was, that was her down fall. Apply to nursing homes, hospitals, doctor's offices or jails as long as your foot gets in that door!

Have you considered looking into Nurse Residencies? Many hospitals have them for new graduates and experienced nurses who are looking to change specialty.

Definitely I'm willing to start anywhere just to get some experience under my belt.

I just found out about that. Methodist is having one soon but I already missed the deadline to apply for it because it starts February 9th. The next one starts in June. I need a job ASAP.
