Hi there! I got my offer for Adult Medicine yesterday...I'm a little disappointed, as I REALLY want to work in NICU (Peds and Women's Health were my top two choices). In fact, I marked on my application that I have no interest in Adult Health, so I'm pretty confused as to why I was placed there. Not sure whether I'll accept, but it is certainly nice to have an offer. Congrats to you, though, it sounds like you got your top choice!
Hey guys I was just wondering if you knew when we would find out that our background checks were all good and get our packets? I'm going crazy thinkin about all the little things that could go wrong!! I will feel much better when I get my packet and know for sure (those "investigative comsumer report" things sounded intimidating!).
Nurseyaya did you call them and ask about why you were put in Adult Medicine? I hope you were able to get that sorted out!
Can't wait to see you all in January!
Hey there! Yes, I did call and I was indeed placed in adult medicine. I got some very non-specific answers about why that's the case, but I think it's because my intern/extern experience was in peds psych rather than medical peds and/or I gave some good clinical examples of adult medical situations during my interview....I have racked my brain trying to figure out what I said or didn't say that made them place me in adult. That being said, however, I went ahead and accepted the residency offer! It's a really terrific opportunity, so I'm trying to keep an open mind!
Hope you have a great Thanksgiving, and don't worry about the background check...I'm sure they just want to make sure we haven't robbed any liquor stores lately

I just got my offer letter for a position as a New Graduate Nurse Resident in Critical Care and am so excited. Anyone else? If so-are you taking it? It's a move for me as I don't really know anyone in the area.. but I keep thinking about the program and how great everyone has said their support system is...
I just am stressed because you have only have a week to decide!
