new TEXAS grad wanting to move to CALI

hi guys :) im graduating in may 2012 and im from houston tx and I want to move to cali to become a RN. Im a little afraid because i will be moving alone but i have family that stays in long beach, CA. Has anyone ever made this huge transition?? HELP!
