Hi! I'm new to this whole schebang too! I'm also 26, and after being a stay at home mom for the past 3.5 years, I've decided to finally act on my desire to become a nurse. I'm applying to an accelerated program that starts in August going nights and weekends, since I'm still home with my kids during the day. I'm starting my pre-reqs on Monday, so don't have any advice for you. Just wanted to say hi and good luck!
Where are you going to school? I live in Nevada and am going to an orientation for a 2 year Nursing Program at our local Community College/ College of Southern Nevada (CSN). (For some reason they took the Community word out of the name)
I had a baby who is 6 months old and I think she has opened eyes to want to do more for OUR future.
I'm going to the Medical Careers Institute here in Virginia Beach, VA. The RN program is 15 months, but I need to take 3 pre-reqs, so I'm starting those now to have everything done by July. I needed to find something so that I could take the nursing program at night, and our local community college only had a full time day nursing program. Having a kid definitely gives you the motivation to do more/better so that you can give them a better life. I'm doing this half for me and half for my kids. I just hate that being so young, they won't understand why mommy is gone most nights.

Hello everyone,
I am new to the Nursing field. I am 26 years old and have decided to live my life long dream of becoming a Nurse. I have always been intimidated by it, thinking I was never smart enough but I am tired of putting it off and have decided to take the plunge.
I have an orientation at my local College tonight and am nervous but excited at the same time. I know I have some pre-requisites I have to take but I'm ready to things going :)
I am open for any and all advice as I begin on my journey.
