I have been a nurse for around 2 years but recently started a perioperative training program. I have always been interested in becoming a CRNA, and working in the OR with different anesthesia providers has confirmed this interest. I love the OR environment but I'm not liking my role as a circulating nurse very much.

My question is, should I stay in my OR position for a year and then transfer to ICU? Or should I try to get into an ICU now? I'm afraid it will look very bad on my resume to have only been in this position for a few months before leaving for another job. My last two nursing positions were 8 months and 14 months. I would say to go with what your heart is telling you. I understand that you are in orientation and most jobs require you to be in the same position for at least 6 months. I would say to stay the minimum amount of time that is required and follow your dreams. You wouldn't want to stay in a job that your didn't like because it will make you miserable and dread coming to work every shift.
