Hello. I am in the process of transitioning to a hospital acute care environment (Med Surg) from subacute/transitional care in a skilled nursing environment, which I have worked in for the last 12 years. I have a lot of experience doing lab draws, IV starts and wound care which I know will be helpful in a Med Surg setting. I'd like to know, if anyone here can share, what some of the differences are other than, I'll have way fewer patients to take care of...anyone who has made this particular type of transition, feel free to chime in. I don't want to fail at this, I hope to stay with this for at least 3 years and perhaps move into another specialty like telemetry. Thanks peeps!
