Specializes in NRP within Labor and Delivery unit.

Hello all!! I'm a new LPN currently living and working in Pennsylvania. I work in an Obstetrics unit handling Postpartum care. I love it and I know to go further in this specialty I need to go back to school for my RN. That being said, I'd like to gain some more experience and exposure in my field before diving back into school. I know that I want to work in L&D in the future but while I'm still new and learning, I think exposure to all areas of nursing is key. I spent a few years living in Las Vegas, Nevada and my experiences with hospitals and nurses there is what lead me to my decision to begin a career as a nurse. I'm licensed in PA and NV and would like to relocate back to NV now that I have a career path mapped out. Problem is I'm having a difficult time finding jobs. I know that hospitals don't hire LPNs out there which is a shame, but in my searches it seems that LPN jobs are few and far between or require at least 5 years of experience! Do I really have to wait that long to get a job in a more urban location?! My position I have now is good and will add time and experience to my resume but it really won't lead me any further in advancement. Now I'm feeling stuck! Does anyone have any suggestions?
