Hello.
I've been at my new CM job for about 3 weeks. Since I have no experience, I am being trained. The people are very nice and helpful. I feel like I am learning a new language! Sometimes I feel ok and sometimes I feel really overwhelmed.
Learning all the terms, the computer program, the job process, the corporate culture, etc. is a lot. The nurses seem to like their jobs, however. I think I will like it, but I can't wait until I know what I'm doing. I hate being the clueless newbie! lol:lol2: I'm trying to take it day to day, however.
Does anyone have any helpful tips?

I too am new in the case management field. I just finished my first week on my new job. Hang in there we will get through it. We are using Interqual to determine if the patients meet criteria for LTACH level of care. No fun when patients and families don't want to leave our facility after a thorough explaination of why they no longer meet criteria for the current level of care. I am so excited and eager to learn case management. Good luck to you.
