NJ fingerprint cards taking FOREVER!! Help!!

U.S.A. New Jersey

Hey fellow RN's!

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions on how to get the NJ BON to send me my fingerprint cards. I'm licensed in Nevada and I did my endorsement application back on March 28th. I sent in all the required documents only to realize that I hadn't received my fingerprint cards yet (3-4 weeks after initially applying).

What I discovered was I didn't put my apartment number on the app so they got returned (silly mistake that is costing me big time). After filling out an address correction in at the beginning of May when I caught it and calling 4 times now, I'm STILL waiting for them to send the cards. Every time I call they say the same thing; "The request was submitted but our processing department hasn't processed them yet so they haven't been sent out." Uggh!!! This is the last thing I need to wrap up my application and despite the phone calls I'm getting no-where. I offered to send them a pre-paid overnight envelope to send them to me and I also said I would come and pick them up but they won't allow it since I'm not a resident of NJ yet. This is so frustrating as I can't apply for jobs and I'm not planning on leaving my current job here in Nevada without first securing a job in NJ. Not to mention that my boyfriend moved back home to NJ in November so that's another reason I'm trying to finish this up as quickly as I can. Thanks!

A week or so ago I called the NJ BON and asked how long it takes to process a license by endorsement. They said to process the application, 8-10 weeks, possibly longer if a paper application was filed versus online. For the actual license number, up to 4 months. The NJ BON is extremely slow and dealing with them is a nightmare. They seem to be satisfied doing things this way.
