Any info would be greatly appreciated. I was told I needed to take a pharm test before being offered a position however am not sure what to expect. I have been given a study guide, but frankly I don't think I can remember all of this in just a few days. Is this exam very detailed and ambiguous like the NCLEX, or is it mostly med math? Thanks

It is a lot of information about side effects, what nurses should monitor, what to watch for, contraindications, etc. There are also calculations on the exam.

Hi Carolyn,

I'm taking the pharm exam next week and I wanted to know how tough you thought the exam was. My friend told me it was harder than she thought it would be. Should I just focus on side effects and nursing considerations, considering there are so many drugs to study? Any advice or info would be helpful :)

Hi mattormike,

How did the pharm exam go, was it tough?

I've given myself about a week to study, hopefully that's enough time with all the drugs I need to study. Were the few days you had to study enough for the exam?

hi Chels13 I was just hired at St Francis and have to take my test.. I just got the job offer yesterday so didnt even contact anyone regarding the test.. how much time did they give you from the time of the email with the study guide to actually having to schedule and take the test. Also, was it extremely hard, and what was it like, (if u remember) i'm just very anxious because the job is dependent on this

thank you !

Steph

Hi StephRN21621,

I wanted to get your feedback regarding the exam. Do you remember how many questions it was, was it more difficult than you expected? How much time did they give you from the time of being offered a position to actually having to take the exam?

Hi I recently accepted a RN position at SFH orientation start Dec 5...I would like to know how did you prepare for the pre employment pharmacology exam? Was it difficult? Did they ask you a lot of questions regarding the action of each drug indicated on the guidelines? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone. I have to take the pharmacology exam, and only have 2 days. Safe to say, it's gonna be tough. What scares me is if I fail it and the retest, does that mean they'll pull their offer? Please let me know!
