New Grad Pulmonary Advice

Hello everyone, 

I’m a new grad nurse starting in a Respiratory step down unit with all patients being ventilated, whether invasive or not. I was just wondering your guys’ advice on what I should study or practice before my first day. I also wanted to know what everyone experience is with pulmonary nursing, the good, the bad, and the ugly. What should I be prepared for and how will I succeed?
