new grad programs

What if you start a new grad program and aren't happy with the unit? You've completed orientation but don't feel supported by coworkers, as if you're on your own completely? do you stay or go?

A lot depends on the particulars of the situation -- which you did not provide in your post. A lot of new grads feel a little scared when they first get "out on their own." They long for the security of a preceptor or an instructor. If that's the case with you -- and your unit is actually a very nice unit with nice people that provide the type of care you want to provide -- then it would be silly to run away just because you are feeling a bit insecure. However, if people are truly mean and it is a terrible place to work, then it would not be wise to stay.

I suspect that the truth for you is somewhere in the middle. That's why more details would be needed for anyone to give you decent advice.
