New Grad Nurse Los Angeles to Grand Rapids

Hello!

I am a new grad RN (ADN with Bachelors in another field) moving with my wife and children to Grand Rapids. I’d like to work in ER if possible. I have a few months experience in Los Angeles as a psych RN, and a year experience as a CNA in a downtown Los Angeles hospital.

What can I expect as an RN with less then a year experience in Grand Rapids? Is it difficult to find a job with minimal experience? What is the typical nurse/patient ratio? The typical pay? Are there shift differentials?

I grew up in Michigan and am looking forward to coming back.
