New Grad.. New Job.. HELP!

Nurses New Nurse

I am a month out of nursing school(lpn) and have started my first job. I am not lisenced, but will be taking my test this week. I am doing an internship at the place I will be working until then. Here's my dilemma..

I'm not too sure that I can handle this place. Not right out of school at least. It is a MS/Young adult facility. The nursing home administrator here actually went to nursing school with me because he wanted to get his lisence to help out around there, and before I was offered the job he told me (and a few others from our class that he hired) that this place is a very difficult facility. But he is willing to pay us very well. (Extremely well for being a new grad!) I've been there now for 2 weeks either shadowing a nurse or working as a nursing assistant, and I have really fell in love with all the residents. They are honestly wonderful. (It's all about the residents anyways) But I am really nervous about the med pass... It is VERY heavy. 8 am meds are not finished until 11 or 11:30!!! That's just how heavy it is! I will have 25 residents, btw, which I know is pretty common in LTC. And the unit manager that is just taking over my floor is a pain in the butt to put it nicely, the type of person who is always on a power trip.

I have an interview at a different facility next week just to see what they have to offer. But my mind is not made up yet. I'm really on the fence about this and would really value any of your insight! Thanks!
