New Grad needs some advice!

I am a new grad in Louisiana and I will be moving to Maryland in June. I really need some advice on what hospitals/areas to look into. My fiance will be moving with me and he will be going to University of MD at College Park. It has been a very long time since I have lived in MD, so I have no idea where to apply and what areas to look into. I am really hoping to find a reasonable, safe place to live that is within easy driving distance from his college. My mother lives in Columbia and while it is a beautiful area, I think it might be out of my price range. I have heard good things about Howard County General and Holy Cross. I will have 6mo of med/surg experience and would hopefully like to transition into PACU/OR/Endo, but I know that may not be possible right away. Any advice you can give me is greatly appreciated!
