I'm currently in my last year of nursing school at University of Maryland and will be graduating in December, i'm really looking into moving to Miami but i'm worried that since I don't have any type of network there it will be very hard for me to land a job as a new grad.
My cousin recently graduated from FIU and said she was one of the few from her class to get hired...and the only reason she did was because her mom is the Minister of Health in Haiti so she was able to "pull some strings." It's just depressing that if you don't have experience then you have to know people "inside" to land a job
I do speak fluent French&Haitian Creole, i know there's a much stronger focus on Spanish but i'm still hoping that will maybe help in terms of my credentials??? Also, im not interested in typical med-surg nursing im more interested in public health nursing because that is what i truly enjoy. Would anyone be able to shed light on the outlook regarding public health nursing in Miami? would it be easier to land a job as a public health RN compared to a med-surg/ER/ICU etc. RN?
Thanks in advance!
