New grad FNP salary—Indiana

Specialties NP

Updated:   Published

I am in the process of reviewing a job offer for a full-time NP position in central Indiana and I would love to know what kind of offers other new grad NPs are seeing in this area.

The position is with cardiology. Outpatient aside from inpatient rounds every 6th week. No call. 10-12 patients daily. Solid benefits including CME, PTO, 401k. Base salary offered $97,500.

Thoughts?

TYIA.

That's an average salary. Have you looked at any of the salary publications? They are way askew--way off--way way off. I have a friend works anesthesia has 15 years or more experience and makes no where near what the survey's say a nurse makes in his position.

I've been in healthcare for a number of years on average the salaries in my catagory as a respiratory therapist and as a nurse are at least $20,000 higher than the comparable position in which I work. Add to that women still make several thousand less then men doing the same work in hospitals. Sad but very true.

Your offer sounds about right and it is a lot of responsability, but it can be very rewarding. I love working with cardiac patients. Have fun and enjoy your career. I hope it brings you much joy.
