Hi, my name is Holly. I am a newbie here with some questions for the nursing pros. I have desperately wanted to become a OBGYN Nurse for years. Many obstacles have got in my way of pursuing my dream, but I am ready to start now. There are so many colleges out there and I just don't know where to start. I know I need to obtain my degree as an RN first, but what are the next steps to specializing my degree in OB? Is there a separate school for that? & how many more years of schooling does it entail? If anyone has some helpful hints, I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks!

Welcome and good luck on your future.
The only things you need to be a nurse in any field is to graduate from a nursing program with your associate or bachelor degree, pass the NCLEX-RN which is the "nursing boards", wait for your license and then apply for a position.
Some hospitals may want you to have a bit of experience under your belt in general or med/surg nursing before working in a "specialty", but for the most part once you have your license are technically qualified to start work in any RN position in the USA.
Once hired you should have an orientation of at least 3 months (hopefully more). You'll learn the basics of your job during that time.
Thank you so much for your input! Very helpful!
